Friday

suit up at fleet feet

Head to Fleet Feet to browse through sneakers and other activewear. While you’re there, meet some new people and join one of Fleet Feet’s running/walking groups! Get your steps in as you tear through town with your new fresh kicks.

Walk the historic tour of downtown carrboro

This self-guided historic tour of downtown Carrboro will have you walk to 21 beloved places and learn their remarkable stories. Inspire your mind on this heart-healthy adventure compliments of the Carrboro Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Resources Department. 

Stroll through Carrboro’s MLK Park

Enjoy the MLK Park and its community garden. Read quotes from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., roam the walking trails, admire murals, or simply relax in the grassy field. You can also bring your bike and ride the pump track. Continue your exploration at Carrboro’s historic mill, now the Carr Mill Mall, and enjoy dinner at one of the restaurants in the mall. Try Carrboro Pizza Oven – a local favorite.

BUY A BACK ALLEY BIKE AND HIT THE MANY MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS

Back Alley Bikes is an independent, worker-owned bicycle shop in Carrboro, NC. They can repair a broken bike or sell you a new ride so you are back in the saddle and hitting the trails in no time. There are many bike shops in Carrboro for you to consider, including The Clean Machine and PARcycles.

Fuel-up at the Farmers’ Market before you hit the trails

Locally grown and nationally known, Carrboro Farmers’ Market is home to many of the most talented growers and artisans in the region. Visit the different vendors for a wide selection of the highest quality locally grown produce, artwork and much, much more. Stock up on some fresh produce to fuel your ride this afternoon.   

Feel alive as you mountain bike through Carolina North Forest

Explore Carolina North Forest’s various trails and challenge yourself to easy, intermediate, and difficult loops throughout the forest. With over 20 miles of trails, this spot is a local favorite for our many mountain biking enthusiasts.

Grab a quick lunch at Vecino Brewing Co.

Fuel your body for your next adventure! This neighborhood favorite, located in the heart of Carrboro, uses high-quality ingredients that are locally sourced. Take a break at Vecino Brewing Co. and enjoy a salad or wrap, and reward yourself with a carefully-crafted beer.

Take a thrilling bike ride through Brumley Forest

Looking for flow? These trails are built for mountain bikers by mountain bikers! You’ll find incredibly fast, flowy trails that are accommodating to most skill levels at Brumley Forest. The climbs are smooth, consistent, and easy but the descents are fast and thrilling!

Sunday

soak in the scenary with a sunday morning Stroll

Savor the sunrise as you leisurely stroll through charming downtown. While walking, treat yourself to a fresh brewed cup of coffee and scone from Open Eye Coffee, a local favorite. 

breathe in fresh air along Bolin Creek Trail

Savor the sights and sounds of nature as you listen to the water flow and the trees sway at Bolin Creek Trail. Bolin Creek is home to many animals, bike routes, and beautiful trails along the water. Discover the remains of the Castleberry-Taylor Mill dating from November 1, 1763.

Glide through the countryside to Maple view Farm

Maple View Farm is a local favorite. The Nutter family has farmed the land for five generations, and they sell their dairy products, including homemade ice cream, out of their local Country Store & Ice Cream Shop. From Carrboro, the farm is a 6.5 mile ride on old country roads. When you arrive, enjoy an ice cream cone on the front porch as you rock on the rocking chairs and take-in a glorious sunset. It’s a real treat.
